Breakfast Smoothie Recipes for Weight Loss

I love to make breakfast smoothie recipes for weight loss because not only is having a healthy breakfast important for the day, but making it with fresh fruit and greens is an effective and healthy way to get all the vital nutrients you need to start your day and your metabolism! But there are some things you need to take into consideration when making these delicious treats, and that's the quality of the ingredients and the power of the blender you are going to be using. Also keep in mind that the quality of the water or juice you use can greatly affect the taste and health of your smoothie too!

Now the first thing to making sure you have the healthiest weight loss breakfast smoothie is to use only organic ingredients so that you can avoid putting nasty toxins and other chemicals into your food. Organic produce also happens to be much tastier and more dense in terms of nutrients per volume, so you are more likely to get the extra fiber and nutrients you need to help keep your body burning fat longer and and more effectively. They also can be purchased affordably by using frozen produce which is often available year round compared to fresh seasonal produce.

\"Smoothie Recipe\"

Now another important factor to consider is the blender itself, and I like to use high powered blenders made by blendtec or vitamix brands. This is because they provide the highest horsepower motors for there blenders which means the produce gets chopped up a lot better, which makes for a more consistent smoothie. This is not only important for taste, but also for health too because by emulsifying the ingredients you make them more "bio available" or easier to digest, so that your digestive system will absorb more of the nutrients!

Breakfast Smoothie Recipes for Weight Loss

A great starter recipe is a strawberry banana weight loss smoothie. The basic recipe is:
-2 cups filtered water
-3-4 fresh strawberries
-1 whole banana in frozen chunks
-1 cup of non fat organic Greek yogurt
-1 tsp of organic ground Stevia for a safe and natural 0 calorie sweetener

Then all you have to do is toss your water into the blender first, then add in your Greek yogurt next. Follow that up with the fresh strawberries and then finally add in your frozen banana chunks and sweetener. Then all you have to do is blend until you get your desired consistency and enjoy!

Primal Post Workout Blueberry Breakfast Smoothie Recipe

I enjoyed a Primal Protein Blueberry Coconut Smoothie just a few minutes after a lift strength training workout. I will share the recipe with you below.

It only gave me 300 calories which was not enough but I didn't want a full meal since I knew I was going to eat at a local restaurant for brunch. There, I had a nourishing and delicious omelet along with a few non primal things that I will share in tomorrow's post!

\"Smoothie Recipe\"

This recipe is simple, yet tasty. The smoothie was fluffy due to the whey protein and not much else, however, if you add some crushed ice it should be less fluffy and smoother. Enjoy!

Primal Post Workout Blueberry Breakfast Smoothie Recipe

Primal Protein Blueberry Coconut Smoothie Recipe

  • 1.5 Scoops Whey Protein Powder
  • 1 C Frozen Blueberries (I used exactly 4.6 oz)
  • 2 Tbsp Shredded Coconut
  • 2 Drops Stevia
  • 4 oz Water
  • Add ice if you desire or have unfrozen blueberries

I personally prefer Now Foods brand of Whey protein powder. When you buy on Amazon in bulk you get a fantastic deal. Due to the fact that I live in Michigan, I picked blueberries from a local farm last summer. Several pounds worth of blueberries are still stored in the freezer from last year. If you have fresh blueberries then add 1/4 to 1/2 cup of ice or as desired to decrease the temperature.

The 2 drops of stevia added a little sweetness. The powder version of stevia is a lot better but a couple of liquid drops will do.

Quick Nutrition Breakdown

  • 297 Calories
  • 38.8 g Protein, 20 g Carbs (5 from fiber)
  • Trace amounts of some vitamins and minerals

At less than 300 calories, this smoothie is perfect as a snack or as a "side dish" in a larger meal. It is a decent dose of protein. Three jumbo eggs cooked in coconut oil, butter or lard would be a great complimentary food to this smoothie. Eggs are one of the most nutrient dense foods on the planet as well as one of the cheapest.

If you do enjoy this smoothie with eggs then be sure to eat the entire egg. The yolk is the most nutritious part of the egg and the cholesterol content has zero effect on your risk for heart disease.

Cost Breakdown - .43

  • Whey Protein from Amazon - 90 cents
  • Shredded Coconut from Amazon - 7 cents
  • I-Pick Blueberries from Local Farm - 46 cents

This meal is not cheap but is not expensive either. If you double the recipe than most people have a full meal for under .

Antioxidant Packed Breakfast Smoothie Recipe

It has been almost a year since I made a vow to start taking an appropriate dose of antioxidant rich fruits every morning with my breakfast. I quickly learned that for me, the best possible way to obtain this goal was to make a smoothie blended with the right ingredients. You can substitute almost anything in the recipe, but I've tried so many combo's I believe I got one of the best possible tasting healthy breakfast smoothie.

I used to drink green tea and soon moved on to drinking white tea, but found the taste of both lacking in the flavor department. Back when I was trying to lose weight I would drink Slim Fast to be my meal replacement, and get my daily vitamins. I found I was still burning out mid afternoon, right when I really needed that extra energy boost to finish off the workday in good fashion. By January last year I was always hearing about antioxidants, and especially the Acai Berry. It let me to read up all I could on the amazon berry, as well the amazing benefits of antioxidants.

\"Smoothie Recipe\"

This blended recipe of tea, fruits, ice and proteins is a great way to get your daily vitamins and that extra and natural energy boost. I stated before that you can substitute any fruit in here to make it more to your liking, but trust me on this excellent combo.

Antioxidant Packed Breakfast Smoothie Recipe

Antioxidant Breakfast Smoothie:

1 cup green tea
1 cup white tea
1 full Banana
1 cup of Acai Berries
1 cup of Blueberries
1 cup of Bilberries
1 cup of Goji Berries
2 tbsp Whey Protein (or Slim Fast vanilla)
2 cup of ice

I highly recommend putting in the ice and both white and green tea into the blender first, mix these up so its almost a slushy. From here you can add your fruits and whey protein to the mix and I usually let it blend for 45 seconds to a minute. Give this smoothie a try for a week and hopefully you will notice that you feel better, and have no problem keeping awake at your job.

Fruit Smoothie Recipe For a Healthy Breakfast

Losing and controlling your weight is an ongoing conversation with so many people everyday. Studies by leading nutritionists all have say, eat a well balanced diet that includes:

Low intake of fat

\"Smoothie Recipe\"

Eaten regularly, and in the right amounts, this diet will slow digestion which in turn increases metabolism. This healthy combination of foods promotes a diet rich with vitamins, minerals and antioxidants which all help control disease while promoting healthy skin and bones.

Fruits and vegetables also help cleanse our body through a process known as detoxification. Detoxification is the natural metabolic process the human body employs to clean the toxins out of the system which, in turn, promotes a overall health. The challenge for many is they do not have the detailed knowledge they believe is required to build menus that include all of these components for tasty meals.

By now everyone has heard the quote that "breakfast is the most important meal of the day". Still many people tend to skip breakfast because they are bored with the same old cereals, or don't want to take the time to scramble an egg. Or, almost as bad, they hit the drive through on the way to work and pick up a sausage, egg, and cheese cholesterol bomb only to find they are tired and lethargic and hungry half way to lunch.

On the other hand making a sensible breakfast part of the morning routine has been shown to help lose weight and promote general overall health because of the additional calcium, fruits, and fiber in the diet.

Fruit Smoothies are a sensible and increasingly popular breakfast drink that are easy to make, delicious, and are a great source of the nutrients we all need such as proteins, omega 3's and vitamins to both boost our immune system and promote general overall health.

Low-fat milk, soy milk and yogurts are all dairy products to mix well with a wide variety of fruits and vegetables to render meals that taste great, are good for you and are surprisingly low cost as well. The fruits and vegetables ingredients can be fresh or frozen and you can add healthy meal supplements like Mila to your recipe as well

Here is a fruit smoothie recipe you might like to try for breakfast or a snack that will help you jump control your weight and improve your overall health. This recipe includes an ounce of "Mila" chia seed for additional benefits.

Cranberry Delight Smoothie Recipe
1 cup of cold low-fat cranberry juice
1 medium orange (peeled, sections only)
1 medium banana (cut in pieces)
1 cup of cold strawberries (fresh or frozen)
1/2 cup low-fat yogurt (you can choose: vanilla, strawberry, orange, banana or plain)
1 ounce Mila chia seed
Ice about 8-12 cubes

In your blender mix all the ingredients, starting with about 6 ice cubes. Sometimes if you are using frozen strawberries or the orange is very juicy, you won't need as many ice cubes, so you can add more if you like and blend to your favorite consistency.

Numerous fruits can also be used including red or green grapes, blueberries, strawberries, kiwi, pineapple, oranges, and lemons, making green drinks incredibly versatile to personal tastes.
